Italy's interior ministry said the man, whose nationality was not given, was arrested in Castello di Cistea in Naples after investigators monitoring the inteet found a video of an Islamic State group decapitation on his Facebook page.
Police discovered weapons including three home-made mortar shells, two electronic devices for setting off explosives at a distance, 146 fuses, various detonators and a remote control, the ministry said in a statement.

Along with the Isis video, the man had posted phrases on the social networking site in support of the Camorra, the notorious Naples-based mafia syndicate.

The award-wiing Italian joualist has lived under guard since just after the 2006 publication of his book "Gommorah", which depicted in unprecedented detail the grip of the Camorra organised crime syndicate on his home city of Naples.
The hugely successful book led to an acclaimed film and television series but it also eaed its author a string of death threats from enraged heads of powerful Camorra clans.
In October 2006, Saviano got a phone call telling him he was being placed under protection.
"When they came to pick me up, I asked 'For how long?" he recalled in an article for Italian daily La Repubblica. "And an officer replied, 'for a few days I think.'"
A decade later, Saviano still lives his life as a potential target.

Banco Popolare di Milano. Giuseppe Cacace/AFPBanco Popolare and BPM shareholders voted on Saturday to merge the two banks under an accord that will create Italy's third-largest lender and consolidate the country's troubled banking sector.
As expected, the "yes" vote won easily at Banco Popolare, with some 23,683 votes in favour of the tie-up to 118 against.
Over at the Banca Popolare di Milano (BPM), the ballot had been expected to be tighter after two associations of shareholder retirees called on those voting to reject a deal they said would create a giant institution with little
clout.
But there too the "yes" vote won comfortably, with 7,315 shareholders supporting the merger while 2,731 voted against and 142 abstained. The new entity "Banco BPM" will be third only to Italian banking giants Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit. The merger will "strengthen the banking sector," Milan Polytechnic expert Marco Giorgino told AFP.

The cabinet signed off on the budget, which will then be scrutinised by Brussels. It remains to be seen whether the Commission will be satisfied with Italy lowering its deficit to 2.3 percent of gross domestic product from the
earlier 2.4 percent target.
"It's a budget full of good news for Italy and the Italians," Renzi, who took power about two and a half years ago, told a press conference after the cabinet meeting.
"Italy is still not going well, but after two and a half years it's going a bit better. We are still not happy though, we are hungry for positive results," he said.

The funeral cortege wound its way in heavy rain from the Piccolo Teatro Strehler where Fo's coffin had been lying in state, with mouers singing political ballads in honour of the left-winger, who died on Thursday aged 80.

The Argentine has refused the traditional trappings of the papacy from the start, declining to move into the sumptuous papal apartment in the Vatican and plumping instead to live in a hotel inside the tiny city state.
His rooms at Castel Gandolfo, a former summer favourite with popes hoping to escape the heat of the capital, have been tued into a museum which will be officially inaugurated on October 21.
Francis has visited the palace some 25 kilometres (15 miles) from Rome only a couple of times since his election in 2013, and has never spent the night there.

It is not yet a done deal: while the Banco Popolare votes are widely believed to be in the bag, there are fears shareholders at the Banca Popolare di Milano (BPM) may sink the merger, with two associations of former BPM
employees set against it.
The bank wrote to shareholders Monday to urge them to tu out and cast their ballots at the extraordinary meeting on forging "Banco BPM", which would be third only to giants Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit.
This is an "important choice" in a "context of great uncertainty for the Italian banking system," BPM's CEO Giuseppe Castagna and board chairman Mario Anolli stressed in the letter.

Plans to open a McDonald's next to Saint Peter's Square in Rome have angered cardinals, including a group of the red-hatted "Princes of the Church" who live above the proposed site.
"It's a controversial, perverse decision to say the least," Cardinal Elio Sgreccia said in an interview with La Repubblica daily on Saturday. Opening a branch of the US fast-food chain in a piazza to the right of the
Vatican's basilica is "by no means respectful of the architectural traditions of one of the most characteristic squares which look onto the coloade of Saint Peters," he said.
Sgreccia does not live in the building but was speaking on behalf of the seven cardinals who do reside above the site, which covers 538 square metres (5,800 square foot), and is being rented out by ASPA, the authority in charge of the Vatican's real estate.

This data comes from Istat, which revealed on Friday that the value of the non-observed economy had increased by €5 billion since the previous year, when it contribited 12.9 percent of the total GDP.
The bulk of the money comes from the underground economy, which contributed €194 billion (12 percent of the GDP) last year, while illegal activity brought in around €17 billion.
Between 2011 and 2014, the value of the unobserved economy has steadily risen to 13 from 12.4 percent of the total GDP.

The Naples pizzeria, which opened in 1870, seats 80 people at its simple tables. Only two flavours are served - margherita and marinara - and hungry visitors often queue patiently outside for hours before getting a seat.
The inside is unassuming, but a photo of Roberts during filming is displayed near the entrance, amongst other memorabilia including poems, family photos and information about the Condurro family, which has run the eatery since its humble begiings.
Now the family has given its blessing for a London branch of the Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, which will be managed by the fifth generation.

The decree consists of 53 articles and envisages billions of dollars being spent on the rebuild - so what exactly is going to happen?
€4.5 billion in funding
A sum of €300 million has been set aside for the first phase of reconstruction, while the total rebuild is expected to cost €4.5 billion. Broken down, that's roughly €3.5 billion for private buildings and €1 billion for public buildings.
The full resources are set to be approved in Italy's Budget Law, which will be passed on Saturday.
As for where the money comes from, about six percent is provided by the European Union, while the Italian state is footing the rest of the bill. Over €15 million has been received in donations.

But he's sticking to his decision.The mayor of Calizzano, a town near Savona in northe Italy, held a meeting with the local bus company and the owners of the hotel where 40 refugees are currently staying, to request that the migrants use a different bus from schoolchildren.
The mayor, Pierangelo Oliviero noted that since the bus only had space for 48 people, and children had to take either the 6.30 or 6.45 bus in order to reach school on time, the migrants staying at the Hotel Lux should use a different mode of transport.

Border police intervened when the man, who had flown from Manchester to Brindisi in Apulia with budget carrier RyanAir, was apparently unable to wait to use the airport toilet.The 68-year-old removed his trousers and defecated on the asphalt at Brindisi airport, between the aircraft and the gate to the airport, Italian media reported on Wednesday. He was unable to give an explanation for the act, and was described as being in a "state of mild agitation".
He received a fine for €3,333 for 'obscene acts' a few days after the incident while on holiday in Lecce, according to local paper Brindisi Report.
Police intervened in a separate incident at the southe Italian airport on Monday, after a married couple had a fight while the plane was refuelling.

More than 5 million foreigners live in Italy, as of January 1st 2016, making up 8.3 percent of the total population.
Between them, they fund the pensions of 640,000 Italians, according to a new report. This is particularly impressive since only 100,000 foreigners draw pensions themselves in Italy.
The report 'The economic impact of immigration' by the Leone Moressa Foundation, was presented to the Interior Ministry on Tuesday. Published aually, it measures the tax and social security contributions of migrants living in Italy, as well as their cost to the state.
In 2015, the new arrivals brought in over €7 billion in personal income tax and €11 billion in social security contributions.

The infected doctor carried out vaccinations on thousands of children. File photo: PexelsA child in Trieste, northe Italy, has tested positive for tuberculosis (TB) after coming into contact with a paediatrician infected with the disease.
The boy was one of almost 3,500 who were called back for testing two weeks ago after it was discovered the doctor - who had administered vaccinations to the children - had been affected by TB for over a year.
The infected child has been admitted to the Burlo Garofolo children's hospital in Trieste, the hospital said on Monday evening. The hospital added that his condition "was not worrying" and that he was not in the contagious stage of the disease.
Tests were carried out on 3,490 children aged under six following the doctor's diagnosis, a measure the hospital described at the time as "precautionary and preventative".

A combination of unfavourable weather and parasites targeting chestnut trees has led to a huge drop in production this year, Italian farmers' organization Coldiretti waed on Saturday.
In Saleo, the top location for chestnut farming, chestnut production could fall by as much as 90 percent, the local branch of Coldiretti said. The organization labelled the drop a "disaster" and met with local farmers over the weekend "to work out solutions in order to save the season".
Chestnuts are produced in all of Italy's regions, but the majority are produced in the south, which has been badly affected by drought.

Around 100,000 people took part in a march 'for peace and against indifference' between Perugia and Assisi in central Italy on Sunday.
The march condemns war around the world, and calls for inteational institutions and individuals to take a stand against violence of all kinds.
Participants included groups working with victims of domestic violence, the family of Giulio Regeni, the Italian phD student who was tortured and killed in Egypt earlier this year, and volunteers who work with migrants and refugees.
Organizers said that the participants came from 500 cities across Italy to walk the 24km route - an event which has been held aually since 1961.
Some carried flags representing their region or organization, while others held photographs of migrants crossing the Mediterranean and victims of bombing in Aleppo.

The dog, after being rescued by volunteers. Photo: OIPAA farmer in the earthquake-hit town of Amatrice has been charged with animal abuse after deliberately ruing over his dog "because it wouldn't listen".
The man tied the pet to his car using a rope before driving over the animal, the Italian branch of animal protection organization OIPA said on Monday.
He reportedly explained his actions by saying that he wanted to "teach it a lesson". The animal had been playing with dogs from the Civil Protection Department - which are in Amatrice to help with the post-quake recovery - rather than responding to his calls.
Police pursued the man and rescued the animal after noticing a trail of blood behind the car.
The animal, a large sheepdog, was "visibly scared and had difficulty breathing" and a vet from Oipa treated it for injuries to its paws, bleeding and a low body temperature.

Marino risked jail on charges of false expense claims totalling 12,000 euros ($14,000) and 6,000 euros of tax fraud.
Judge Pierluigi Balestrieri cited a "lack of proof" over the allegations as he acquitted Marino, a member of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's centre left Democratic Party.
Marino, subject of a 600,000 euros damages claim form the municipality, had denied any wrongdoing.
"I am happy. I expected this result as I knew I was iocent and finally the truth has come out over these ignominious accusations," said Marino.

Railway station cuisine normally conjures up images of unappetizing fast food and overpriced but underwhelming sandwiches. But a new food market in Rome's central Termini station hopes to challenge the stereotype by providing a wide range of high quality, local food.
The 15 artisan food stalls in Rome's Central Market, which opened its doors for the first time on Thursday, sell traditional Italian food including pastries, meat, pizza, gelato and much more.
One store caters specifically to vegans and vegetarians, while others focus on regional specialities, but there are also a few stores run by Rome cult favourites.
Gabriele Bonci, who runs the popular Pizzarium, sells pizza at the new marketplace, or for a more unusual snack you can opt for the pizza-sandwich hybrids made by Trapizzino, who also have a shop in foodie hub Testaccio.
There's even a wine bar and restaurant run by a Michelin-starred chef (Oliver Glowig) on the first floor.

The British govement said on Friday it will scrap the 15-year rule that had barred many British voters living abroad from casting a ballot in general elections back home.
The UK govement said on Friday that the rule that has barred British nationals from voting if they have lived abroad for over 15 years, will be scrapped in time for the 2020 election.
The govement published its intention to ditch the unpopular law, which Britons living abroad have long fought against, by publishing a policy statement titled “Democracy that works for everyone”.
“We believe that overseas electors contribute to British society and should be given that democratic right to vote,” the constitution minister Chris Skidmore said.
“We intend to give those overseas electors the chance to register quickly and securely so they will be able to register to vote in time of the 2020 election.”
The govement will now draw up a bill which must be given the green light by parliament, but all being well

Pickpocketing, along with overall crime levels, has seen a decline in Italy, Interior Ministry figures show - news which is sure to provoke a sigh of relief from wary tourists.
The new statistics come from Il Sole 24 Ore's aual crime report, based on figures provided to the financial daily by the Interior Ministry.
Overall, Italy saw a drop in the total number of crimes reported, down 4.5 percent from 2.8 million to 2.7 million. This followed a 2.7 percent decline in 2014, after three years of steady increase.
However, that still leaves 7,500 crimes reported each day, including hundreds of instances of pickpocketing.While pickpocketing overall was down by 3.6 percent compared to last year, there were still 173,000 reported incidents.
The northe cities of Rimini (1071 crimes reported per 100,000 inhabitants), Bologna (876) and Milan (800) had the most light-fingered thieves, while the Sardinian town of Oristano saw just 18 pockets picked per 100,000 inhabitants.

The remains were found in a cave south of Palermo. Photo: Wind&Wuthering/FlickrSkulls and other apparently human bones have been found in a cave in Palermo, Sicily, according to local media reports on Wednesday.
The remains could belong to up to six different people, and clothes and women's shoes were also found, La Repubblica di Palermo said.
Police reportedly made the grisly discovery in the Casalotto district of Roccamena, a small town southwest of Palermo. The cave is difficult to access and the area has not been fully examined, but has been closed off by police.
Local police and forensic investigators are investigating, while mountain rescue teams were also assisting with recovering the remains. Investigators do not yet know for certain if the remains are human bones, or who they could belong to.
